An old hand-made rope bed: pegged posts and rails, hemp cord laced through the rails, a lumpy straw tick and pillow, and a coarse wool blanket. Game ready for Unreal, Unity and Godot.
A frontier bed of the 1830s, old and worn from years of use: right for a mission or fort barracks (the Alamo in 1836), a frontier cabin, a ranch house or a field hospital.
The frame is four squared posts with side and end rails tenoned into them and pinned through with wooden pegs, and a two-rail headboard. The bed is strung with hemp cord laced across and along through holes in the rails, the cord looping round the outside of the rails from hole to hole and sagging under the bedding.
On it lies a straw-filled linen tick, lumpy and hollowed where its sleepers lay, a flattened straw pillow, and a coarse wool blanket thrown over it and falling over the side. The wood is weathered, its edges worn, the tick stained.
18,000 triangles in a single LOD, one PBR material (2048 px colour and normal maps; the GLB also carries its roughness map), real-world scale (1.0 x 1.94 m, 0.9 m to the headboard) with its origin on the floor at the bed's centre, foot facing -Y. Static mesh: FBX for Unreal and Unity and GLB for Godot, three.js and glTF importers, with PNG textures.
